The Pink City

Jaipur, India is known as the pink city.  It's in the state of Rajasthan and only a few hours drive from Delhi.   I was sick before arriving and Tim was briefly sick while we were there, but we managed to enjoy a few sights and get a few photos...
My camel obsession begins - I really wanted a photo of one of these guys!

Amber Fort Palace

Our elephant ride to the top of the fort.

Amber Fort Palace - my favorite place to visit in India so far!

At the Amber Fort Palace.  He was just so picturesque.

Another camel shot from a moving car!

Hand-loomed carpets

Traditional block printing (maybe I wasn't doing it right, he looks a little angry)

One of the beautiful doors at the City Palace

The puppeteer shows us how it's done.

And my turn!

Our Hotel-Homestay.  Very colorful and fun!

Palace of the Winds.  But the cool thing about this shot is I took it from the window of a tourist mini-van moving pretty quickly (and we did not edit or crop this photo)!

Tim in front of Amber Fort with the angry elephant man behind him.  He wanted 100 rupees to be in the shot!

And finally Tim scored the camel shot from a moving car!

We saw so many of these "pillow" trucks, most even more full than this.  Sometimes we couldn't see the truck wheels!  Another one was tipped over on the side of the road.

This truck would win any pimp my ride competition.  Although this is about average for an Indian long-haul truck.

I wonder what it's for, then.
